I wasn’t so sure about eating oxtail for the first time but it was one of the best meals I’ve had all year! Thank you so much for bringing Caribbean to Asheville. We needed it. Erica

Had the shrimp roti with okra and purple potato mash. Loved every bite. Attentive and friendly staff. Reasonable prices were great value. Great caribbean atmosphere. Highly recommended. Barry Barry

Ester, the owner, greeted our party and ensured that all our needs were met. The chicken curry was full of flavor, the salted fish was delightful. The desserts were traditional favorites and did not disappoint. I have no idea when we’ll return to Asheville, but when we do Calypso will be one of our first stops. Toyia

This restaurant is amazing. We had the curried chicken and the pastries as the appetizer. Blown away how good it was. We will keep going back. Ben

Calypso opened recently and has quickly vaulted to one of the best restaurants in Asheville. The meal was extraordinary. We started with a conch ceviche with dasheen chips that was super fresh, bright with lime and spice, a fine way to open your pallet. We also had two delightful island cocktails- the aptly named Pain Killer and the complex Coco St. Lucia. For our main meal we split the whole crispy snapper which was one of the best fish dishes we have ever had- very fresh fish crispy on the outside, perfectly moist on the inside. Frank

We love Caribbean and were delighted to find it. My wife had the shrimp rotis and I the goat. Both were full of complex flavors, a real delight. The appearance is warm and welcoming and there was live music when we were there which really set the mood. Colin
